Candace E. Holmes is a native Delawarean. Candace received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware and a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia – David A. Clarke School of Law. While in law school, Candace served as an intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, an Associate and Senior Editor for the UDC Law Review, an Evening Division Senator for the Student Bar Association, and summer law clerk for Delaware Volunteer Legal Services. During her final year of law school, Candace received the Earl H. Davis Advocacy Award, for outstanding clinical performance. Prior to joining Schmittinger & Rodriguez, Candace worked as a judicial law clerk in the New Castle County Family Court.
Candace currently practices in the areas of family law and workers’ compensation (exclusively on behalf of injured workers). Candace also volunteers for Delaware Volunteer Legal Services.
Candace is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Delaware. She is a board member of the Kent County Bar Association and Academy of Dover Charter School. Candace is also a member of the American Bar Association, Delaware State Bar Association, and the Randy J. Holland Delaware Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court.
Candace is active in her church and community, and enjoys spending free time with her husband, Terrell, and their two children.
