Nicholas Rodriguez is one of the founding partners of Schmittinger & Rodriguez. He is an esteemed attorney with over 40 years of experience in the legal profession. Born and raised in Dover, Delaware, he has dedicated his career to serving the people and businesses of his home state.

Mr. Rodriguez attended Pennsylvania State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then went on to study at Washington & Lee University, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree, Summa Cum Laude. While there, he authored Comment, 17, Washington & Lee Law Review 260 (160).

Nick was a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif and Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternities, as well as the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and Xi Sigma Pi forestry honor society.

Following his graduation from law school, Nick was admitted to the Delaware bar. He quickly established himself as a respected member of the legal community. At the outset of his career, Nick served as a U.S. Commissioner in the Judicial District of Delaware, acting in an important role in the judicial system by providing an efficient and effective means of administering justice in a timely and fair manner. This experience gave him a unique perspective on the court system and the legal issues facing the people of Delaware.

Nick was appointed as the City Solicitor for the City of Dover. In this role, he has provided legal guidance and representation to the city government on a wide range of issues, including land use, zoning, and public safety. Nick is known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to find practical solutions to complex legal problems.

Throughout his career, Nick has been recognized for his exceptional legal skills and contributions to the profession. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a prestigious organization that recognizes the top trial lawyers in the country. He is also a member of the Kent County, Delaware State, and American Bar Associations, as well as the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

Nick served as President of the Kent County Bar Association, demonstrating his leadership skills and commitment to the legal community. He also served as First Vice-President of the Delaware State Bar Association.

Nick Rodriguez has made significant contributions to the legal profession and his community over the course of his long and distinguished career. He has represented many organizations pro bono that provide great assistance to the public including Kent-Sussex Industries Inc. He has represented Kent since their inception decades ago, and is passionate about their mission to train and provide employment for physically and mentally disabled persons. He also represents a number of volunteer Fire Companies, on a Pro Bono basis, principally, Harrington, Magnolia, Cheswold and others. Nicks’ expertise, empathy and commitment to excellence are reflected both in his work and  in the success and growth of Schmittinger & Rodriguez.
